What toys will boys go mad for in 2012? With the upcoming London Olympics, sport related toys and games will be high on their list and with the expected release of ‘The Hobbit’ and the new Lego Superheroes sets this is looking like an exciting time in the boys’ toys range.

This will be a very busy year for Transformers with the release of new merchandise from Hasbro and a new range of Battleship themed toys which follows on to the Battleship film which is due for release in May will include more Kre – O sets and games which boys will love.
A new infrared night vision scope, a tracking device and other additions to the Spy Gear range are expected to be hugely popular as are new additions to the Hot Wheels range plus some new interactive toys are rumoured to be released this year.
Celebrating its 80th birthday this year we can expect some exciting new 2012 releases from Lego.
Everyone is excited about the release of the new Thundercats toys later this year.
Following their success last year we can look forward to even more Nerf Vortex Blasters and the releases of Wild Planets Sonic City sets which can be used individually of joined together to form one giant city, due for release with some amazing sound effects.
Like the girls toys the release of App Toys which bring together mobile app technology and a range of accessories giving a true virtual reality play experience that boys will love. Whether it’s a birthday gift or a special treat we know that boys will always want the latest releases and this was true throughout 2011 which saw toys following the movie trend and Cars 2, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter and Transformers toys were very popular.
Lego was one of the most wanted construction toys and their ranges took the movie trend into account.
Top toy however was undoubtedly the Vtech Innotab and Leapfrog LeapPad Explorer both of which exceeded stock supplies and quickly ran out of stock. Air Swimmers release a remote controlled shark and clown fish – both of which were really popular with both boys and dads.
2010 saw the release of Toy Story 3, this animated film was highly anticipated and a range of toys featuring the main characters such as Jet Pack Buzz Lightyear were released and budding rock stars rocked out with the new range of Paper Jamz Guitars.
