Taking a look at Gabby the first thing we noticed was her cool pink hair, purple glasses and all the different accessories that came with this toy.
Taking her out of the box was fairly easy as we simply untied all of the ties and removed the plastic packaging. After finding the instructions we noticed one thing that really is a bit of a thumbs down- the fact that there are no batteries included! However we always have spares in the office as its not the first time we’ve had this problem!
Inserting the batteries was really easy, simply unscrew each of the screws on both of her shoes and insert the batteries (an adult will need to do this part), we then flicked the switch on her left foot to on and we were greeted with a very warm welcome!
As Gabby begins to talk you will see her move her head, and her lips will flash different colours. Also included are six different interactive accessories including a milkshake, cupcake, lipstick and makeup. No fashionista would be complete without her mobile phone and let’s not forget ‘Sprinkles’, her adorable white puppy, who is wearing a pair of bright pink glasses.
Gabby reacts to each of her interactive accessories. Like all girls she loves a makeover and comes with hair accessories, eye makeup and colour changing lipstick this diva regularly changes her look, which makes her really happy! As all girls know, knots in your hair are a no-no, so press each of the hearts on the sides of her glasses to get them out.
Gabby loves milkshakes and smoothies and when she is drinking she makes drinking noises and her glasses begin to fill up, don’t let her drink too fast as she might get ‘brainfreeze.
This little diva wasn’t called Chatster Gabby for no reason, could it be because she always has something to say and knows over 300 word and phrases? You’ll never be short of conversation with Gabby as she asks questions, plays games and even asks for your advice and when we pressed her left heart sensor we could respond to her. When the music notes came on it was time to have a boogie with Gabby as she loves todance along to some cool music.
She will also respond to her dog Sprinkles and when we held sprinkles close to her she told us that she wanted to give him treats, which Gabby did. Playing games is also one of Gabby’s favourite pastimes, and if she tells you she wants to play a game, you need to play along. We played the Hiccup Game with her and every time her eyes went green we had to press on her lips until she stopped hiccuping. When we won we were given a very loud cheer!
When Gabby talks, her eyes light up and the yellow hearts at the corners of her glasses are sensors which when pressed prompts you to play games, ask questions and even give Gabby a makeover!
Our favourite part of Spin Master Chatsters Gabby is how interactive this is. You can download the app and Gabby will phone your children using her mobile phone. This doll is definitely more advanced than the dolls we at UTCT had as young children (maybe we’re showing our ages a bit!).
Chatster Gabby which is suitable for ages 5 years and over is a great interactive doll which is packed full of fun features.
