1 – The Return Of Winter TV
With the X Factor officially returning on August 29th and Strictly Come Dancing set to return on the 5th of September, our weekend social life is officially taking a nose dive as we settle into watching the nations favourite talent shows. Both shows normally finish in the middle of December, meaning they have Christmas written all over them. We can’t wait to see what Chezza & Rita will wear for the festive finale already..

2 – Festive Food

The GBBO is back on our screens and our favourite episode – Bread Week – is definitely one that gets played several times in the run up to Christmas.  Festive food is definitely one of our favourite things about Christmas.

3 – Darker Nights

Surely we aren’t the only ones who have noticed that it’s slowly but surely getting darker earlier at night? In June, the sun was still shining at 10pm. Now, we’re noticing it almost dark at 9pm! Well, actually, being based in Scotland means it’s dark most of the time here.

4 – Weather

The weather is getting a touch cooler and the leaves are turning crisper meaning Autumn and Winter are on their way. Is there any nicer feeling than waking up to a crisp cold frosty morning? Not even a heat wave can beat that.

5 – Toys

We always know that Christmas is fast approaching when we start to see more toy advertisements on the television and making an appearance in store windows. Retailers such as Hamleys and Argos have already release top ten prediction for the festive season too.

6 – Fashion

We are already seeing Autumn/Winter releases in several stores including New Look, Topshop & Dorothy Perkins. Personally, we can’t wait to see what Christmas jumpers will be released!

7 – Fluffy Socks

Our fluffy socks are definitely being used more and more as we lie on the couch reading a magazine and watching the GBBO.. Ahh bliss!

8 – Lighting The Coal Fire

We’ve seen a lot of chimneys smoking recently, so whether you have a coal fire or any other type of heating, we wouldn’t blame you for turning it on! We’re loving curling up by the fire almost as much as our cats seem to be enjoying it…

9 – Christmas Decorations!

Yes, already! If you have a browse through town you might notice a few Christmas decorations have already gone on sale, we’ve spotted a few online too and Selfridges has opened its Christmas store already.

10 – Christmas Movies

Some of our favourite television channels include True Christmas and Christmas 24. If you browse through your TV guide, you might see a few festive films are already hitting your screens on True Movies.. We’re not just watching TV here at UTCT HQ, we promise!

11 – Music

The summer anthems of 2015 are already being knocked out of the top 40 by ballads and inspiring songs which remind us of Christmas. We do enjoy listening to Birdy while we drink a hot chocolate…

12 – Beauty Products

Have you started to notice darker lip colours hitting the shelves? nail colours? We have! the Autumn/Winter beauty releases are already hitting our shelves and we can’t wait to start wearing a plum lip. We’re pretty sure UTCT’s John isn’t so bothered by that though…

There are 12 signs that Christmas is on it’s way.
