5 Flab Fighting At Home Fitness DVD’s #ShapeUpSeptember

You don’t need any fancy equipment to get fit.  You can help to get fit at home by using a fitness DVD! We put five to the test and thought we could share our opinions.

1 – Danielle Collins 10 Minute Natural Body Lift – We were kindly sent this to review.

This DVD features six Yoga and Pilates workouts which last 10 minutes each. Also included in the DVD is nutrition and skincare advice from Danielle. The TV expert has a soothing, calming voice which will keep you focused and calm throughout your workout.  After putting this to the test, we can definitely say a little bit of practice will help you to work through the moves as these can be quite tricky if you’re like us (we’re about as balanced as an elephant on roller skates).  One thing in particular that we loved about this was the fact that Danielle signs off each section with “and smile” which makes us feel a little silly but actually works! we felt our moods were lighter after we had done this and can definitely feel a difference in our agility after doing this a few times.

2 – Charlie Brooks Before & After Workout

Charlie Brooks (Janine from Eastenders) is really a much nicer person in real life than she is on the television.  After having her child in 2005, Charlie was left with 2 stone of extra weight that she was having difficulty shifting. With the help of fitness trainer Dee Thresher, she dropped the extra weight and got into the best shape of her life.  Brooks lost a staggering 2 stones in 12 weeks and has created 5 ten minute workouts which include Warm Up, Disco, Combat, Hi-Intensity & Pilates (Cool Down).  The workout is simple to follow and the fun workouts make this one of the best workouts we’ve done!

3 – Davina “Fit In 15”

This works on short bursts of high intensity that focuses on Cardio, Arms, Legs, Core, Stretches & Relaxation Stretch.  We loved the idea that you can make a huge difference to your body in just 15 minutes a day of exercise, but we’re growing slightly tired of the HIIT trend, mainly because it makes us sweat.

4 – Josie Gibson’s 30 Second Slim

As soon as we read “30 second slim” we somehow got it into our heads that this was a get fit DVD that lasted 30 seconds. This pleased us greatly, although we did have our suspicions. This DVD is actually several 30 second bursts of high intensity with her fitness trainer who helped her shed 3 stones and 5 dress sizes. The DVD lasts 20 minutes and in all honesty will really help you to work up a sweat.

5 – Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred

The idea of this is that you work out using phase 1 for ten days, phase 2, for ten days and phase 3 for ten days totaling 30 days.  Each phase increases in intensity and fitness levels and so is designed to push you to your limits. Jillian is known for being the fitness coach on “The Biggest Looser” and is one of America’s most loved trainers. This one is definitely not for the faint hearted.
