Toy company join select few to make it in the Guinness World Record title holders.
UnderTheChristmasTree followed and tracked the great event when Bigjig’s super toy team used over 10,000 pieces of Bigjig Rail Track pieces in attempt to build the Longest Wooden Toy Train Track which was a steam rolling success!
Reaching a whopping 2196.5 metres, surpassing the previous record of 1650 meters which took 7 hours to complete. Raising £1074 which was divded into two and given to the 2 selected charities of their choice – the Demelza House and The Locomotive Restoration Fund.
We weren’t the only ones rooting Bigjigs on, as spectators from far and wide went to see the record attempt. If you were one of the thousands who followed them on twitter (like us!) you would have been keep up-to-date with all the going’s on!
‘We are delighted to have received confirmation of the World Record!
‘The team worked tirelessly to ensure that we followed all of the rules and regulations set by Guinness; it was a great day for all involved and we are over the moon with the monies we raised for charity!’ said Liz Ireland, Director of Bigjigs Toys
UnderTheChristmasTree want to give a huge high five (and virtual mince pie!) to all the friendly folks at Bigjigs and wish them a huge congratulations! – well done guys and gals you really steam rolled over that record!
