Here’s The Story Of Brave

Princess Merida has been presented a bow from her father – King Fergus of Clan DunBroch for her birthday. While she is practicing she encounters a will-o’-the-wisp. Soon afterwards, Mor’du, a giant demon dear  attacks the family. Merida and her mother, Queen Elinor escape as her father fights of the bear which costs him his left leg. Many years after this attack, Queen Elionor has given birth to three identical triplet boys and Merida has become a free-spirited teenager. Elinor then informs her that she is to be betrothed to one of her father’s allied clans. She is then reminded by her mother about  the legend about a price who ruined his own Kingdom and warms her that her failure to marry could harm the kingdom! However, Merida is not happy with the arrangement.

However, when the clans arrive to compete in the Highland Games for Merida’s hand she declares that she is eligible to compete for her own hand as the first born of Clan DunBroch which causes a fall out been Merdia and her mother Elinor. After cutting the family tapestry in anger, Merida flees to the woods where she is lead by the will-o-wisps to the hut of an elderly witch who is posing as a wood carver. After a bit of bargaining, the witch agrees to give her a spell which will change her mother; in the form of a cake!

Merida then goes back to the castle and gives her the cake which causes her mother to transform into a large bear. With the help of her brothers, Merida and Elinor return back to the witch’s deserted cottage where they find out that the spell will be permanent unless undone by the second sunrise. The witch has left Merida a riddle, mentioning that she must “mend the bond torn by pride”. As the two begin to reconcile, it is clear that the spell is becoming slowly permanent as Elinor often loses control and acts like a bear. After encountering the wisps again, the two follow the ancient ruins and discover that Mor’du was once the prince in Elinor’s legend, who received the same spell from the witch. Merida then has an idea that she can reverse the spell by repairing the family tapestry.

Can Merida repair the family tapestry before the spell becomes permanent? Will the prince’s spirit ever be released? You’ll have to watch the film to find out! Take a look at the Brave trailer below.
