Call The Midwife To Return For Christmas 2014

callthemidwifeIt has been announced that there will be a Christmas special of Call The Midwife for 2014 with the next season of the show returning in 2015.

Last Christmas we saw Chummy have a gorgeous baby boy and this year we are so excited to see what Call The Midwife will have in store for us for the Christmas special.

The 2015 series will return without nurse Jenny Lee who’s real name is Jessica Raine. The actress has spoken about her character and her departure from the hit television show.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, the actress said:

“I am really up for playing someone a million miles from Jenny, much as I love her.  I would like to explore Comedy, I want to do more Theatre and I definitely want a future in film.  I love Science-Fiction!”

It seems like Jenny Lee is moving onto ‘pastures new’ and so is Jessica Raine.

After asking around the UTCT offices, there’s a few things we would like to see happen in the Christmas Special:

We want Chummy to work as a midwife full time again, we would also really love it if the midwifes had new assistants which could be well trained dogs with cute midwife hats….but we have our suspicions that might not happen.

Whatever they have set up for the Christmas 2014 Special, we can’t wait to see it.

If you would like to watch previous series of Call the Midwife then you can order the boxset today for £10.
