A delicious vegetarian recipe which will make your tastebuds melt. You could add in other veg too for different variations.
Chicken “Style” Cheese and Garlic Pasta:
- 1 bag of chicken style pieces
- 1 garlic clove (or to taste)
- 1 low fat garlic and cheese soft cheese
- 1x 500g mature cheese
- semi skimmed milk
- 1 pack penne pasta
How to make the chicken “style” cheese and garlic pasta:
Lightly coat a pan with a little oil (around a table spoon) and cook the bag of chicken style (meat free) pieces for 10-12 mins. Remove from pan and put to the side.
Ensure to have a pot ready with boiling water for the pasta to get popped into. Add penne once the water is boiling as the sauce will take around 10-12 mins.
Using a medium sized pot, add 2-3 cups of semi-skimmed milk, one crushed (or more depending on taste) garlic clove and bring to the heat.
Once hot stir in around 150g of low fat soft garlic and cream cheese, stir until the cream cheese is all mixed, taste to see if you want more.
Add grated mature chedder cheese to taste (usually around a half cup full) stil until melted and now add in your veggie chicken style pieces.
Once the pasta is cooked, drain the water and add the sauce, make sure to give a good stir.
Once pasta is coated, pour into a ovenproof serving bowl, top with extra grated cheese and put in the oven for a few mins to melt.
Serve with side salad and/or piece of garlic bread.
