Children In Need Lineup 2013

Children In Need 2013 has been launched by a host of stars ahead of of this year’s telethon.

Sir Terry Wogan, Nick Grimshaw, JLS, Union J, and Gary Barlow are amount the stars who will be getting involved with various projects for the charity event.

This year will see a bake-off like no other as Nick Grimshaw and Terry Wogan battle it out to become star baker.

He said: “I love baking and this year to fund-raise for BBC Children in Need I am going to challenge Sir Terry to a bake-off. I will probably bake a carrot cake – nutritious and delicious!

“If you’re bored of bathing in beans, silencing yourself and space-hopping to get to work, head to bbc.co.uk/pudsey to download your fund-raising pack, which will give you some rather incredible ideas on how to raise money!

“By raising money for BBC Children in Need, you are helping make a difference to young lives.”

Union J and Alex Jones are also getting involved by asking people to swap their 9-to-5 work clothes of pyjamas.

Josh Cuthbert said: “We love our onesies – why not wear yours or some pyjamas to school or work and ask friends and family to sponsor you?”

JLS will be hosting their own musical fund-raiser, while Matt Baker is hoping to find people to join home in a sponsored race.

BBC Children in Need’s life president Wogan said: “Another year older and my childhood is almost ancient history, though memories from back then are very fond ones.

“I was lucky. Mine was a happy childhood but for many children in the UK, this isn’t the case, which is why the BBC started BBC Children in Need.

“Get involved. Go on, you know you want to. Together we can make 2013 our greatest year ever.”

Gary Barlow added: “I’m doing my bit for BBC Children In Need, are you? Whether you bake, race, dress up or sing, every penny goes towards making a difference to the lives of children and young people based here in the UK.”

Children in Need will return for a night of entertainment and fundraising in November on BBC One.
