Humax Open Box

We were kindly sent the Humax Freesat HB-1100s box and couldn’t help but admire the sleek, compact design the box had.  Black in colour with a high gloss finish and extremely light to hold, perfect for switching around rooms.  Holly from our team was the lucky member who got to review this, here’s what she thought:

‘I’ll be honest and say that I am a user of the Sky+ box which does give me a wide range of channels but I was happy to compare the Humax box next to it to see what it offered.  Firstly I couldn’t believe how much smaller and compact the box was compared to the quite bulky Sky box, I could easily store this in my TV unit which is small. It was so simple to set-up and only took around 10 minutes or so to do so, the process was really easy to follow and with a few clicks here and there I was done.

Once up and running, I was browsing all of the channels this free-to-air box had to offer. There is a massive 200 plus channels across TV and Radio for you to view plus 13 of those are in HD. There was all of the usual channels such as BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and some which I didn’t expect to be free such as Dave, Spike and one of my favourites The Food Network.

The picture was clear and I could stream as many programmes I wanted, if you wan to record simply connect an external hard drive to record your favourite content and watch it whenever you like.  There was also the option of using the catch up on TV for BBC iPlayer, ITV Player (England and Wales only), All4, Demand 5, YouTube and there was the option of some paid subscriptions such as Netflix and Wauki TV. All of this could easily be accessed when I connected my Humax Freesat box to my wireless network, this box could also store up to 1,000 hours of playback so I had plenty of storage.

Overall I thought the Humax Freesat box was brilliant, had loads of channels, I loved the catch up service (disappointed that neither Scotland or Northern Ireland can get the catch up service on ITV!)  and the box looked so sleek and elegant. I would definitely buy this box.”
