Christmas Review 2017: Rainbow Toys Cycling Paddington

We were delighted when Rainbow Designs sent us over Cycling Paddington, the latest addition to their ever popular Paddington Bear range and Elaine couldn’t wait to put him through his paces.

Paddington Bear Toy

Unpacking this cute Paddington Bear sent me back to my younger (much younger!) days when I would sit in front of the TV and wait eagerly for the little brown bear from Peru to take us on another adventure – marmalade sandwich in hand –obviously!

Now, instead of walking around London he’s off on his yellow and red three wheeled bike, always on the lookout for another adventure before heading home to Mr & Mrs Brown’s for tea.

Soft and fluffy, Paddington loves pedaling along to a catchy tune as he cycles in random directions (for music and movement turn on batteries which are safely put away inside the red storage box) and always wears his signature blue duffel coat and red hat.

It was time to put him through his paces and as the music played he went forward and back moving in random directions until he crashed into a skirting board which made him stop.  However, not to be deterred Paddington simply reversed and as the music restarted he carried on his way, but only for a short time until I had to move him from the unit he’d crashed into and then he started all over again.

I’m always concerned about move around, battery operated toys as I’ve found that they invariably require a wooden or vinyl covered floor to work.  However, I’m delighted to say that Paddington and his little red bicycle moved around my carpets with perfect ease, much to the disgust of my 2 cats.

All in all I think the Cycling Paddington from Rainbow Designs would make a great toy for any child aged 3 and over.  It’s sturdy and could take a good few knocks and comes complete with fitted batteries, just remove him from the box and he’s ready to go.

I think this super cute Cycling Paddington would make a great Christmas gift for any child age 3 and over and he won’t break the bank with an RRP of £29.99.
