Everyone knows just how much UnderTheChristmasTree LOVES a hot chocolate – no matter what month or day of the week it is, so when we heard Waitrose was releasing what we would call a shining beacon of tastiness (yes we did just say that!) we wanted to know all the gooey details.
Putting together some of your favourite smells and tastes of the festive season together, you will be able to taste and smell notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, black pepper and tangerine – according to Waitrose.
The hot chocolate is a unique blend the Waitrose Signature Spice blend of rich Belgium chocolate and a special gold powder which creates a shimmering effect on the top of the drink. When hot milk is added you will see the gold rise to the top – we can’t wait to try.
Waitrose Executive Chef Jonathan Moore said: “Christmas is a special time of year and to celebrate we wanted to create something that’s never been done before – a gold hot chocolate. Combining the comforting glow that a hot chocolate delivers, along with a touch of sophisticated magic, it’s the perfect drink to enjoy on Christmas Eve when the final gifts are being wrapped.”
