Decorating your home for easter

Hosting an Easter party? having family round? or do you just simply want to decorate your home?

Easter is the perfect opportunity to have some fun and decorate your home for when friends and family come round.

It can sometimes be difficult to come up with good Easter decoration ideas for both the inside and outside of your home.

Get your home hopping with these Egg-ceptional ideas below:


Pastel colours: The decorating choice for this Christian holiday so why not try swapping your plain cushion covers for some pastel blue’s, pink and yellows.

This could transform a room instantly and with spring here you could leave these for sometime.


Create some home-made decorations: A great way to put your crafting skills to the test, making your very own Easter wreath to hang outside your door. To make all you need is:

  • Plastic coloured eggs
  • Solid straw wreath (even use the old Christmas one you were thinking of throwing away!)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Hanging wire
  • Other accessories you may wish to stick and add on e.g – small toy chicks and glitter

Step 1) Using the glue gun, stick the colourful plastic eggs to the wreath. If you want to decorate your eggs with glitter or other accessories do this before adding to the wreath.

Step 2) Fix the hanging wire to the top of the wreath.

Step 3) Hang it on the front door to welcome your friends and family.


Framed Easter photos: Getting your child to draw, paint and create some fun Easter images such as bunny’s, chicks, Easter eggs or if you are religious you could frames some meaningful images of Christianity and place them around the house.


Flowers: It doesn’t matter what the occasion flowers can change the look and feel of your home.

Finding some light coloured flowers such as orchids, tulips and of course Daffodils will instantly make you think Easter/spring/summer.


Easter Ornaments: Place around the home, on tables and units can be put out. Bunny’s, religious, or even some home-made ornaments made by the kids would spruce up your home for the day.


Having friends or family round for a Easter feast? decorating your table in a Easter theme can not only be fun but also show off your decorating skills.

Here are a few Easter table decorating ideas:

Place Cards Use wooden Easter eggs, tie some red string around the middle (or whatever your desired colour is) and tie a large knot at the top. Then write a name on a piece of card, punch a hole and hoop over the knot, there you have some fun name place cards.

Dinner sets – Go for something floral such as pink flowers and sit on a plane place-mat to ensure the plates stand out. For something a little extra why not tie some pink ribbon around your napkin and place a coloured wooden egg on top.

Easter Table centerpiece such as a bunch of Daffodils, Easter basket’s full of decorated Easter eggs or even little treats for after dinner would make any table look delightful.
