Fathers Day

Sunday the 16th June, 2013 is Fathers Day in the UK.

This is the day we remember and thank our fathers for all they have done for us in our lives and for those who don’t have a father with them then this is a great time to celebrate that special man who has been such an important figure in your life.

Initially created to compliment Mothers Day and held on the third Sunday in June it is a time when we can honour fathers and father figures in our lives.

Take this chance to make a special effort for your father, grandfather, father-in-law or someone who holds a special place in your life.

Many celebrate by sending a card or gift or simply by phoning or visiting.

In the run up to Father’s Day many schools help their pupils make a special card or gift that they can give.  These gifts are often drawings or calendars which are made by the children and are much appreciated by the recipient

How will you and your children celebrate this special day.
