Spin Master have took flying object’s to a whole new level with the new Flutterby Flying Fairy toy’s. The company which sent UnderTheChristmasTree Flower fairy to review really didnt know the chaos they insued in the office when it arrived let’s just say it wasn’t just Flower who went flying but papers galore!
Elaine who shouted from the back of the office ‘I remember these, except you needed to pull a little string for them to fly and once pulled it went up around a meter high and then fell to the floor‘ couldn’t believe you could control Flower with just your hand and it could go as high as you wanted, however once charged which only took around 10-12 minutes she seen exactly what Flutterby Flower could do.
On arrival, remove your fairy from its packaging and insert 6 AA batteries into the base of the display stand. Plug the stand into the back of the fairy using the attached lead (make sure to check that the switch on the fairy is turned to the off position) and the red light on the base should start to flash. When the light stops flashing and turns to orange, remove the lead and she’s ready to fly.
Simply press the launch button and flower will spread her glittery wings as she lifts off into the air, twirling and dancing above their hand, holly who demonstrated the electronic toy had to have a few go’s before she got the hang of how to keep Flower where she wanted her – but this is all part of the fun.
There is no remote to control flower the only controller is your hand, simply holding your hand beneath the flutterby flying fairy flower you can make her go higher, lower or faster, guaranteed to let children’s imaginations soar.
To stop her from flying you can either grab her leg’s from the side if you do try and approach her below her feet she will fly away or press the big button on the display case – we would recommend this as Holly couldn’t reach Flutterby as she soared up to the ceiling.
Watch Holly demonstrating this below:
Each fairy comes with its own charger, which looks quite like a child’s jewellery box, Flower’s charger is a deep pink colour and the colour corresponds to both her wings and dress. There are three to collect Flower, Stardust and Sunbeam.
The wings are soft and if she does hit furniture or hard object’s she will fall to the floor, however this happened a few time with us and she didn’t even have a mark on her so the toy is very durable and can resist a few crash landings.
You will need six AA batteries for the fairy’s to work which are not included we would recommend that you stock up on these as this toy will be really popular and well used. It is suitable for kids age five and older.
Destined to be one of THE top toys for Christmas 2013 these will fly off the shelves – literally!.
