Following the latest dance trend by Miley Cyrus, ‘twerking’ has now been added to the Oxford Dictionaries Online.  Twerking is a specific type of dance move and is proving to be popular across the UK and across the globe.

Other fun new words added to the online dictionary include ‘Selfie ‘. Selfie is described by the ODO;-

selfie, n. (informal): a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website.”

Selfies are definitely sweeping across the world, with many people sharing pictures of themselves on a daily basis and taking lead from some celebrities who are known for taking a ‘sefie’ such as Kim Kardashian, Helen Flanagan and Kelly Brook.

Other words added to the ODO include ‘Dappy’, ‘Squee’ and ‘Fomo’.

If you could add a word to the Oxford Dictionary Online, what would it be?
