Like most, UnderTheChristmasTree want to ensure we have the top security when it comes to not only our personal life but business too. Just like Santa (who we are pretty sure has loads of security in the North Pole ) we thought it was time to increase ours.
When we were asked to test out Y-Cam Indoor Wi-Fi Video Camera we jumped at the chance.
First off, let me tell you all the things you need to know about this safety device, it has motion detection and alerts, cloud recording, alert service, 7 days online recording free forever, infrared night vision and just to top it all off – it’s wireless and very simple to set up. No-one will get what’s under your Christmas Tree without being caught this year.
As seen on the Gadget Show, the Y-cam HomeMonitor is really quick and easy to set up, John from our office took it out the box and headed to the router box and connected the HomeMonitor to it, this is just to set the Wi-Fi up, this took around 5-8 minuites to do.
Once the device has acknowledge the Wi-Fi, you then visit the monitor y cam website to register your account, follow the easy steps and your done! Next up is where to put the camera, you may want place it in a certain room or where the kids are or if you have any valubles. If you decide to mount the camera far away from your router you may need additional network cable – we did not so we were fine.
Following the rest of the set up online which took no time at all (a few small hiccups but nothing that couldn’t be resolved very quickly) and then you can start watching what’s going on from your tablet, smartphone or computer.
There are a few things to remember, don’t make the settings too sensitive as you don’t want your device beeping every 5 minutes and have it set up to suit your schedule – no point in recording when you are at home.
If you worry about leaving your kids, pets or precious items in your home, the Y-Cam Indoor WI-Fi Video Recorder will put your mind at ease knowing you will be alerted if anything is detected day or night.
As Christmas is approaching and you may have quite a few gifts lying around the home or if you are planning to go away for the festive period, this safety gadget is a must have. Keeping your mind at rest knowing you have household security (at a fraction of the price of other devices and as you get free cloud recording, which usually costs a small fortune) and you can look through anything that may have happened while you were away.
Overall we felt this was one of the easiest devices to set up and knew all of our possessions were safe, (even though we know we shouldn’t, we had a few giggles spying on the boss too!)
