Yes, you read the title correctly! With Christmas right around the corner (there’s less than 6 months to go!) we here at underthechristmastree.co.uk are already starting to get excited, and thought we’d share our excitement by writing this guide on ‘How to prepare Christmas this summer’.
We haven’t had one to many sherry’s…yet but time to prepare for Santa is approaching us fast. We do realise there’s only so much you can do to prepare at this early stage, so don’t go basting the Turkey just yet, but there are simple things you can do now to help ease into the festive season.
Below are just a few ideas to get you prepared for the big day:
The one thing that can become a stress more than a pleasure at Christmas is buying Christmas presents. Not only is it an expensive task, but it can also be a daunting task when you don’t know what you’re looking for.
Already on many websites, are ‘Christmas Shops’. These shops are not only decorations and wrapping paper, but also gift ideas with huge discounts. If you shop in advance for Christmas, you will really find some excellent bargains. Make a list of things you want to get for certain people, and work your way through that list, now.
You’ll save yourself some money, and you’ll definitely save yourself the hassle of last minute shopping – organisation is key!
We’ve all done it, December arrives and we get the Christmas decorations out, only to find a few smashed baubles and at least two sets of broken lights and battery-less ornaments.
Now is the time to dig out the Christmas decorations and check to see if they work – If there is a broken set of lights, try getting a set of replacement bulbs and checking each light to see which one has broken, that way you can repair the lights instead of buying a whole new set.
Check each ornament for batteries etc and replace where necessary, and of course replace broken baubles if required. This will avoid the stress of broken ornaments and will save you money at the same time.
Cake, Everybody Loves Cake!
Christmas Cake is definitely a key part of everyone’s Christmas festivities. Preparing a Christmas cake is simple when you plan in advance.
Many Christmas Cakes taste better when they’ve had a chance to sit for a while. While you may not want to start making your cake just yet, you might want to start buying the ingredients, buying Christmas cake ingredients can often be expensive if they’re all bought at one time. Spread the cost by buying little and often and your festive cake can be prepared in no time.
The festive season can be prepared quite easily with some organisation. Prepare in advance, and you can enjoy the entire time with the family stress free.
