Were you one of the two-thirds of consumers who changed their Christmas shopping to coincide with Black Friday?
According to a survey of 1000 UK shoppers, over 66% of us changed our usual Christmas shopping dates to snap up a bargain in the Black Friday sales.
According to BCG (the Boston Consulting Group) sales in November increased by £1.5bn more than last year and December also saw a growth of around £1 bn over the same period.
Online sales increased by 11% and the strongest sales figures came from clothing and discount retailers and click and collect proved very popular.
Chris Biggs, partner in BCG’s retail practice, said 55% of shoppers thought Black Friday sales should stop, 31% believed they should continue and 14%said they should be even bigger.
