Cadbury owner Kraft has kicked the traditional Bournville out of the tub and replaced it with Toblerone.
Everyone has their favourite sweet from the traditional Christmas Heroes tin right? Ours is of course the fudge, no wait the caramel – OK we really can’t decide, HOWEVER it seems Kraft has the power to decide that the red packaged, dark chocolate Bournville is not anyone’s favourite and has been left out of the tub to melt away like an old icicle andhas been replaced by the triangular toblerone!
Is the Toblerone worthy of hero status? Or should Santa put Kraft on the naughty list?
It seems that top British chocolate testers think so, Mr Kennedy, editor of Kennedy’s Confection magazine, said: ‘To replace Bournville with Toblerone is unpatriotic, ‘It’s like replacing the fish in fish and chips with mussels’.
Spokesperson for Mondelez International said: ‘Toblerone is a Christmas favourite which has been added to the Heroes assortment. ‘The tub makes it clear that Toblerone is a guest unit within the Heroes mix.’
However is Toblerone like the guest you don’t want to be landed with on Christmas day? Or will you take this opportunity to show good will and embrace the new mini chocolate?
