London’s transport commissioner has claimed almost £180 on expenses to buy Boris Johnson toy buses.
Charging taxpayers thousands of pounds for taxi’s, meals and internet use, it seems that senior Transport for London executives feel toy buses to Boris Johnson should also be paid by the London people.
Sir Peter Hendy who had previously claimed more than two thousand pounds on taxi and traveling costs has now included a £179.70 Die Cast Models of NBfL for Mayor. NBfL is the in-house abbreviation for New Bus for London, which is due later this year.
The toy bus was created by the die cast toy specialists Corgi who has “the exclusive rights from Transport for London to produce this bus in die-cast.”
Have fare-payers picked up the tab of Boris’s new toy? well, the toy buses do not appear to be listed in the Mayor’s public register of gifts and hospitality, however details of expenses claimed after January 1st will be published “within the next 4-6 weeks”.
Green party London Assembly Member Darren Johnson said: “Not only are Londoners paying massively over the odds for the New Bus for London, they are also being asked to pay massively over the odds for toy buses for Boris Johnson. An unbelievable waste of public money.”
Do you live in London and think this is a waste of money? do you think Boris will play for hours with his new toys? we think he will!
