Mel and Sue To Host BBC’s The Generation Game

Ex Great British Bake Off hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins have been announced as the hosts for the return of The Generation Game – could there be a Christmas special in the works?

The Generation Game 2018

BBC One has today (March 22nd 2018) announced The Generation Game will air BBC One on Sunday 1st April at 8pm, fingers crossed this will go down well and will make way for a Christmas special.

The Generation Game, which audiences most wanted to see back on their TV, will follow the original format with some new games added in, the Generation Game wouldn’t be complete without the iconic Conveyor Belt (and cuddly toy) finale.

Joining Mel and Sue is a panel of star judges, who will score the contestants after each game and ultimately decide which pair will face the conveyor belt.

Will the Beeb launch The Generation Game with a Christmas Special?  We’d love to think so.

Bruce Forsyth was the first and longest serving host of this iconic TV show which ran from 1971. Between 1978 and 1981 the show was presented by ‘Shut that door!’ Larry Grayson and funnyman Jim Davidson from 1995 until 2002, while in 2005 Graham Norton presented a Christmas episode.

Larry Grayson died in 1995, so was unable to host the show in the late nineties unfortunately. He hosted the show between 1978 and 1981. It was revived in 1990 with Bruce for 4 years and Jim Davidson took over in 1995 until 2002.

Larry Grayson presented the show in the late 1970s not the 1990s as he was dead by then.
