During the sunny May Day bank holiday, British Gas helpline wishes all their customers a festive Merry Christmas.
Callers to British Gas may have wondered just exactly what day of the year it was when they phoned the companies helpline – as their recorded message wished it’s customers a merry Christmas.
As you may have expected most of the UK settled down to a long weekend with Monday’s May Day holiday and British Gas was no exception, however instead of the helpline’s pre-recorded message to state they were closed for the UK bank holiday the message ended with “we hope you have a nice festive season” – nothing like planning ahead!
Telling it’s customer to phone back on Thursday, December 27th, you can see this message was meant for Xmas 2013 and not 2014 – as Christmas day falls on a Thursday!!!
We wonder if anyone has left the phone call until then?
In a tweet, Joe from British Gas said yesterday: “We’re aware of the festive message on our phone lines and are currently investigating. We can confirm Santa is NOT on his way!”
It looks although British Gas is trying to get onto Santa’s nice list a little early – don’t you think?
