Some early Christmas magic for little girl with life-threatening illness

Imogen Payne with Santa's helpers Two year old Imogen Payne got a special delivery when the elves from her favourite toy shop worked some early Christmas magic.

Imogen who has a life-threatening rare blood disorder regularly visits her favourite toy shop when she has to attend Great Ormond Street Hospital for treatment.

Unfortunately, although there were thousands of toys to choose from she couldn’t find the one she really wanted and asked her mum, Kirsty Pope, to write to the elves at Hamleys if they could help.

Eight months ahead of Christmas they worked some special magic and on her next trip to Hamleys they were able to present her with exactly what she wanted – a donkey, which they’d had specially made for her.hamleys elf with Imogen and Mum Kirsty

Mum, Kirsty,said ‘“She was so happy when she saw the donkey, she couldn’t stop smiling. She kept asking if she could take it home and saying: ‘is it for me?’

“She won’t let the donkey out of her sight now. It’ll definitely be accompanying her to hospital from now on.
