Since the end of Sherlock Holmes series 3 in 2014, fans have been anticipating the return. As we announced several weeks ago, Sherlock is set to return for a Christmas special in 2015, however news just in reports that the special is all about “consequences”.

According to reports, the special will be set back in the 1800’s in Victorian England when Sherlock Holmes was extremely popular.
It has been hinted that Dr Watson’s wife, Mary, is set to die in the special as a consequence of living a happy married life, and as a consequence of Sherlock himself being fond of Mary.
Speaking of the special, Martin Freeman (who plays character Dr Watson) said:
“While we play fast and loose with the original stories, we generally follow the trajectory of what Conan Doyle did. So [Watson] gets married and then Mary dies – so at some point presumably she’ll die.”
