Following Sainsbury’s incredible Christmas advert which has the message of sharing at Christmas, we thought we would take a look at some of the fantastic things that are available from the store and ask – What is worth sharing At Sainsbury’s this Christmas?
Sainsbury’s own brand ‘Taste The Difference’ Orange and Cranberry Panettone is big enough to feed the five thousand. Priced at just £10 it’s full of candied Orange and sweetened Cranberry.
Panettone, also known as “big bread,” is a holiday tradition in Italy, where it is often given as a gift and brought to share. Although this sweet bread can be enjoyed as a dessert, in Italy panettone is mostly eaten in the mornings with caffe latte or cappuccino
If you’re not a fan of Christmas pudding, this would make a great alternative on Christmas Day.
Sainsburys House Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp white wine that is made in South Africa and has lemon and grapefruit flavours. This delicious white wine will make the perfect accompaniment to any Christmas dinner.
If you’re serving pasta as an alternative option or for vegetarian friends this fresh wine goes equally well and leaves a clean taste on the palette.
Perfect for sharing at any festive party or celebration this boxed wine holds 2.2 litres and contains 12.5 % Alcohol Volume
If a nip of whisky is your favourite tipple then you’ll be glad that someone shared their Taste The Difference Speyside Whisky with you!
Produced in Scotland this is actually a single malt whisky, (which means it hasn’t been blended with other whiskies) containing 40% alcohol volume this would be perfect for raising a glass to welcome in the New Year with family and friends.
Underthechristmastree’s John was happy to taste the Sainsbury’s Speyside Single Malt Whisky (strictly for research purposes only) and can safely say this is a good whisky for any malt lover.
Shortbread. You may not eat it on a regular basis, but over Christmas, we find ourselves nibbling this sweet, buttery treat from one of the tins of Shortbread that we always buy at Christmas.
Sainsbury’s have their own Taste The Difference shortbread selection that would be ideal for both eating yourself and sharing with your family, or even as a gift. Included in the box is all butter shortbreads and even Belgian chocolate covered shortbread rings are included.
Don’t forget to keep a box of shortbread handy to greet ‘first-footers’ (those going door to door on Hogmanay) to welcome in the New Year.
Perfect for (grudgingly) sharing these Christmas shaped Rudolph Noses are ideal for nibbling as you settle down to watch the Downton Abbey’s Christmas episode or that new DVD you found under the christmas tree.
Inside this Sainsbury’s pack you’ll find 200g of these tomato flavoured addictive treats (suitable for vegetarians) and at just £1 don’t forget to stock up just in case Santa has more than his fair share on Christmas Eve!
Sainsbury’s Chocolate Shimmer truffle assortment is stunning to look at and even better to eat. Filled with 15 truffles, these are all decorated with a shimmery metallic looking coating which give them a festive edge.
Some of the truffles are filled with Chocolate Salted Caramel and some are filled with marc de champagne. You definitely won’t want to share these with too many people so maybe keep these back for a cosy night in with just your partner or friend.
Marshmallows are definitely our guilty pleasure. The chances of us sharing our marshmallows is unlikely, but this big sharing pack has lots of marshmallows shaped like snowmen!
We plan on toasting some of these on an open fire or dunking them into hot chocolate over the festive season.
Share them, your waistline will thank you for it. Trust us, we learned the hard way!
Sainsbury’s really do have a lot of festive treats worth sharing for Christmas 2014. What will you be sharing? Let us know in the comments below!
