Will Lidl deliver to your home in time for Christmas?

Rumours have emerged that Lidl could move into online deliveries. Could this mean fewer trips to the supermarket this Christmas?….

The big Christmas food shop is one of the most important and busiest days of the year so when German discount supermarket, Lidl, created a holding company with Companies House called Lidl Digital Logistics we crossed every single part of our body that this would launch in time for the festive period.

Shoppers last December snapped up Lidls budget range and made it the ‘fastest growing supermarket‘ over the festive period and with the news of an online home delivery service could we see an even bigger rise this Christmas.

We asked Lidl to comment on when the service would become available, a spokesperson from the company said: “We have a digital department already established within the business and, of course, online is something we’re looking at but we have no immediate plans at the moment.”

With 700 stores in the UK and pulled in revenues of £6.1billion last year it’s likely this would be the next step for the store.

Let’s hope Lidl can deliver on time for Christmas!
