Would you wear a post-baby girdle?

Forty to Fifty years ago corsets may have been seen by woman as a symbol of repression, however a new craze to help shed those post-baby pounds look set to change the way many woman think and feel about wearing a corset.

Being embraced by new mothers and celebrities such as Jessica Alba, new brands Belly Bandit, Bellefit and Hourglass Angel have all produced a line of corset undergarments which all promise to help shrink the belly, waist and hips while minimizing stretch marks, something most mummy’s strive to get rid of the most.

Do you think this is a sensible way to lose weight after having a baby? and does it really work? according to Jessica Alba who told Net-A-Porter it was, she said:

‘I wore a double corset day and night for three months,’ she said last week. ‘It was brutal; it’s not for everyone. It was sweaty, but worth it.’

Recommending woman to being wearing the girdle the day after they are discharged from the hospital for 24 hours a day might be seen by many as to soon after giving birth however, it seems more and more women are wriggling into these constructive undergarments, and with Kourtney Kardashian designing her very own limited edition lace-detailed Belly Bandit girdle, could this be the next big fashion craze?
