BBC Daytime has unveiled two exciting new commissions set to launch in 2026, revealed during the Belfast Media Festival. Alongside these fresh additions, the popular quiz show The Finish Line will return for its fourth season, complete with a festive twist—a week-long run of Christmas celebrity specials.

Roman Kemp comments: “I’m so happy that The Finish Line is coming back to Northern Ireland to film for a fourth series and that we get to gift audiences with a Christmas special to get everyone in the festive spirit. The contestants are, as ever, a highlight. Watch out for some more bonkers answers in a race to get over the line, and the celebrity guests for Christmas are going to be a real treat!”

BBC Head of Daytime and Early Peak Commissioning, Rob Unsworth comments, “We’re thrilled to be announcing such exciting new commissions from Northern Ireland, joining the wide range of shows already made there for Daytime and Early Peak. Expect lots of fun as The Festive Finish Line adds an irresistible seasonal sparkle to one of our most-watched quizzes. And we can’t wait to share a brand new quiz, Do You Know Your Place? – in which Vernon Kay will see if famous faces can unpick which of the facts Paul from The Traitors tells them about our towns and cities are actually true.

BBC’s The Finish Line is revving up for a brand-new series and a week of celebrity Christmas specials, adding a burst of adrenaline to the broadcaster’s December lineup. With Roman Kemp and Sarah Greene back at the helm, the quiz show promises fast-paced fun and festive flair as famous faces dash for trivia triumph. This seasonal edition joins a rich tapestry of BBC favourites returning for Christmas 2025, including the emotional warmth of Call the Midwife. Comedy fans can look forward to new laughs from Here We Go, while EastEnders gears up for another dramatic December in Albert Square. As The Finish Line races into the mix, viewers can expect a month brimming with sparkle, suspense, and stories that bring the nation together.
