You never know when the Balloon will go BOOM! in order to play this game, you need to have nerves of steel. We here at the underthechristmastree offices played this (for research purposes, of course. Not because we got excited when it arrived and had to play it instantly.) and we spent our entire time screaming. John, a normally steady nerved man, was squealing like a little pig when he played this (sorry John).

The game is so simple, and yet so much fun. Simply blow up one of the provided balloons and place it in the balloon frame that comes as part of the game, there are 3 plastic pieces which are clipped into the top of the construction, setting it up is very easy and there is a hole in the centre to allow the balloon to be blown up which then fills the frame, kids can probably do this if they have the breath.
Each player rolls the dice and carefully pushes in one of the included sticks until it clicks. This puts pressure on the balloon and of course this pressure increases as more players push more sticks into the frame, and eventually the balloon will burst sending you all into fits of laughter.
The game is suitable for ages 8+ and requires 2+ players. You can play Boom Boom Balloon in 15 minutes, but we found you could probably spend a lot more time playing this game than fifteen minutes. We played two rounds before we realised we’d been playing for over an hour and the ‘research’ was complete.
Included in the box are twelve balloons with funny printed faces, Red balloon frame where you place the balloon inside, ten sticks, dice and game rules. You do not require any batteries to play this game and fortunately it takes up very little room and makes very little mess, we hear sighs of relief from parents across the country.
Both children and adults are going to enjoy playing this game without anyone getting bored. It’s definitely an ‘on the edge of your seat’ kind of game that really helps to bring the entire family together.
