After the announcement earlier this year that the must-loved comedy Ghosts would be coming to an end after the fifth series, the BBC has announced that there will be a final Christmas special of the show.
The Ghosts team posted on social media: “The final series of Ghosts starts on Friday… but there might be one last present under the Christmas tree this year #BBCGhosts”
Here’s what you can expect from the show according to the description on the BBC:
‘It’s coming up to Christmas, and Mike’s mum is staying. Betty wants to be helpful, but it isn’t long before she is driving Mike and Alison round the bend. Betty has overstayed her welcome, but Alison and Mike don’t quite have the heart to tell her. Just as she decides to leave of her own volition, Betty suspects something is terribly wrong at Button House. She adopts extreme measures to make the house safe and in doing so endangers the resident Ghosts – will they come out of this unscathed?’
Ghosts became a television highlight of Christmas last year with 2022’s special securing 5.9 million viewers, making it the biggest comedy of the year.
Last year saw the series the destruction of their B&B in the gatehouse fire, Alison and Mike began exploring other means of making ends meet and contemplating a new chapter that could have a huge effect on the Ghosts’ (after) lives.
We can’t wait to see what the final episode of Ghosts has in store this festive season!
