Power Through Logs Like a Pro with the Stiga CS 300e Chainsaw
Perfect Christmas gift for DIYers! We put the Stiga CS 300e Cordless Chainsaw to the test—see why it’s a game-changer in our hands-on review.

We know, we know—summer’s only just shown up and here we are talking about Christmas already. But hey, it’s never too early to start getting your garden winter-ready..
Let’s be real—those garden jobs won’t sort themselves out. The logs need chopping, the shed needs stacking, and there’s no better time to dive in than now. Tackle it all before winter bites, so when Christmas rolls around, you can stay warm and toasty indoors instead of braving the cold with numb fingers.
With that in mind, we wanted to test a tool that could handle it all—logs, branches, maybe even a Christmas tree.
Enter the Stiga CS 300e Cordless Chainsaw. When Stiga offered to send it our way, we jumped at the chance to see what this lightweight, portable, and yes, cordless chainsaw could do.
What’s all included in the Stiga CS 300e Cordless Chainsaw
Opening the box, everything is neatly packaged and well secured. You will receive the following:
Chainsaw Unit
Top quality chain and 30cm bar
Battery Charger
Battery – 2x 20V
How to set up the Stiga CS 300e Cordless Chainsaw

We don’t want to be too laid back, but this is super easy, the only issue (which we have with ALL chainsaws) was getting the dang chain to stay on, but once placed, the rest was click and go. Open the round nozzle (looks like where you would place petrol), push the saw on, place on the chain, make sure it’s secure, and put the black cap back on. Slide in each battery on each side, and away you go!
How to Use the CS 300e Chainsaw

Don’t be fooled by its compact size—this chainsaw delivers serious power, perfect for all your domestic wood-cutting needs. Thanks to the two 20V batteries included in the kit, you’re getting double the power and extended run time.
On a single charge, it can handle over 80 cuts through branches up to 120mm in diameter. And with a max cutting diameter of 265mm, it’s more than capable of tackling those tougher garden jobs with ease.
Once you’ve got all your protective gear on (safety first, always!), using the Stiga CS 300e Cordless Chainsaw is a breeze. It’s surprisingly lightweight, making it easy to manoeuvre—even for beginners. Just pull back the bar and push it under the handle, and you’re good to go. The Stiga slices through wood like butter, making quick work of logs and branches.
What really stands out, however, is the built-in chain brake. Not only does it protect against kickback, but it also automatically stops the blade, adding an extra layer of safety while you work. As a result, it’s simple to use, impressively safe, and, most importantly, seriously satisfying to operate!

Final Thoughts: A Cut Above the Rest

We mean, look at all those logs (of different sizes and widths!) we cut in literally 5 minutes!

It’s practical, powerful, and—let’s face it—way more exciting than socks. Get your garden in shape and your firewood sorted, so when Christmas rolls around, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the log fire… see what we did there?
