Get ready to transform your fireplace into a festive wonderland! as we show you how you can easily decorate your mantle this Christmas…
You’ve probably heard the idea of tablescaping but we’re going to go one further and show you, our festive friends, mantlescaping – yes mantlescaping, basically decorating your mantlepiece/fireplace for Christmas.
When family and friends come around to visit during the holidays, creating a magical focal point (other than your humble Christmas tree of course!) will draw the eye of your guests and will have them in awe of how good your home looks.
From adorning with twinkling lights, perhaps adding in a festive wreath and a host of ornaments you’ll be amazed at how quick, simple and fun this is to do.
That’s why we’ve partnered with Lights4Fun to offer you a cosy, one-stop solution for your Christmas mantle/fireplace look. Get it all here, with prices and direct product links for that perfect holiday ambience.
So let’s get started by sharing the exact products we’ve used to create the Christmas look:
50cm Pre Lit Red Berry Christmas Wreath, £59.99
TruGlow® Red LED Pillar Candle Trio with Remote Control, £29.99
4 Ivory TruGlow® Remote Control LED Taper Candles, £39.99
Folkestone Wooden Lantern with TruGlow® Candle, £39.99
Small Indoor & Outdoor LED Star Light, £39.99
First off, remove old ornaments and get ready with a duster and polish because let’s face it the mantle is always dusty, after wiping it down, we stood back and looked at key positions on our mantle.
Obviously above the mantle is our main focal point so we took the 50cm Pre Lit Red Berry Christmas Wreath (£59.99), handy for hanging up as there are no wires looking ghastly trailing down the wall. The wreath is packed full of lights, and loaded with vibrant red berries which make quite the statement.
Next, we wanted to adorn our mantle with a garland which was not too large (as we wanted the other product to stand out too!) so from last year’s Lights4Fun (still available to buy online here) collection, the pre-lit garland.
From there it was all about adding in decorations and of course more lights! this included one of our top picks from the brand – the Small Indoor & Outdoor LED Star Light, £39.99 which could be easily placed anyone in your home. We chose to sit on a few logs next to our fireplace to add warmth to a usually dull area. As you can see the star really does stand out and the cable is long enough that you could place it in most areas in and outside of your home.
Adding in more depth and creating that Christmas cosy feeling can be easily done especially with candles, now, we can hear you saying, yes but they make a mess and blowing out every night can be a bit of a nightmare which is why Light4Fun’s 4 Ivory TruGlow® Remote Control LED Taper Candles, £39.99 was in our baskets before picking anything else. Not only do they look and feel exactly like the real deal BUT they come with a remote control so you don’t have to move out of your chair to turn it off – perfect especially when you’ve overindulged and are dozing in the chair.
For us, when creating a cosy and rustic Christmas feel we wouldn’t go past a wooden lantern, it just gives off that timeless look. Picking the Folkestone Wooden Lantern with TruGlow® Candle, £39.99 we placed it in two different places – the mantle and then around the fireplace itself and both look amazing. If you’re looking for a new addition to your home this would make an excellent option.
For added colour TruGlow® Red LED Pillar Candle Trio with Remote Control, (£29.99) worked brilliantly with the wreath and gave a pop of colour to the whole design.
We decided to go with two looks the first is everything on the mantle, you may need to shift around and decide what goes where but for us, we replaced our mirror with the pre-lit garland so this was the center focus. Then we donned the mantle with the pre-lit garland and pushed the red candles into place. Once done, we added the Folkestone Wooden Lantern to the right hand of the mantle so as to not take away from the wreath and taper candles to the opposite side altogether to create a cluster of light.
The results? well for us they speak for themselves…
Next, we decided to place the festive products around the whole fireplace and we were even more impressed. The range of Indoor Lights from Lights4Fun is vast so you can play around with different colours, modes and sizes to fit your mantle.
Fireplace and Mantlescaping is so much fun! we’re contemplating heading to Lights4Fun to see what else we can include.
