Watch: Our Natural Christmas Tablescape On A Budget
In this video, we show you exactly how we built a warm, natural-feeling Christmas table using budget-friendly pieces, proving that a beautiful tablescape doesn’t need to cost a fortune.
Shop The Look: Everything You’ll Need
- Round Christmas-design placemats – B&M
- Christmas dinner plates – B&M
- Cinnamon sticks (for natural styling) – Amazon
- Christmas napkins – Dunelm
How We Styled It – Step By Step
Start with your base. Lay the round placemats first — going round rather than rectangular instantly softens the look of the table and works particularly well with a natural, less formal styling approach.
Layer in your plates. Stack the B&M Christmas plates directly onto the placemats, letting the pattern peek out from underneath for a layered, considered look rather than a perfectly matched set.
Add natural texture. Scatter cinnamon sticks loosely down the centre of the table, either bundled with twine in small clusters or laid individually between place settings. This is the easiest, cheapest way to bring a natural, organic feel to an otherwise quite simple table setup.
Finish with napkins. Fold the Dunelm napkins simply rather than fussily, and tuck a cinnamon stick or sprig into each one for a cohesive, pulled-together finish that ties the whole table together.
Budget Swaps & Alternatives

Don’t have round placemats? Rectangular ones work just as well; just lean even more into the natural styling with greenery or pinecones to soften the straighter lines.
No cinnamon sticks in your cupboard? Dried orange slices or a few sprigs of rosemary from the garden create a similar natural, homemade feel for next to nothing.
Want to elevate it further? A few tealights down the centre of the table alongside the cinnamon sticks adds warmth without adding much cost at all.
Proof that a stunning Christmas table doesn’t need a big budget, just a little thought and a few natural touches. Watch the video, grab the shopping list, and recreate it for your own Christmas table this year.
