The Sun’s Out, But the 2025 Christmas Specials Are Rolling In – And This One’s a Total Cracker!
The sun might be shining, but that hasn’t stopped the big hitters from unwrapping their festive treats early. From Call the Midwife to Limitless Win, 2025’s Christmas TV lineup is already sparkling – and now, another heartwarming favourite is back!
UKTV and U have just confirmed the return of a true festive gem: Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake is coming back to U&W and U for not one, but two brand-new series (2x5x60’), plus a Christmas special (1×60’).
Animal lover, podcaster, and all-around good human Pete Wicks will once again roll up his sleeves (and likely shed a few tears) as he continues his mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs who deserve a second chance.
Pete Wicks said, “I am delighted to return to Dogs Trust for series two, three and a Christmas special of For Dogs’ Sake.
Filming the first series and following the journeys of these dogs was such a personal and professional career highlight. To know the show received such a positive public reaction and had a genuine impact on the increasing number of dogs being rescued is what really matters.
The true heroes of this show are the Dogs Trust staff and volunteers – the work they do is incredible, and it’s been an honour to highlight their dedication and commitment. I’m excited to be working with U&W and BBC Studios Entertainment to make it all happen again”
In this new series of Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake, Pete will continue to work alongside a team of experts at Dogs Trust, following the operations of the rehoming centre – from the canine carers and behavioural teams to those who work on the front desk and the volunteers.
This series shines a light on all of the unsung heroes who are committed to making a difference to the lives of these loyal companions, whilst also educating viewers about responsible pet ownership and the importance of animal welfare.
Get ready for more wagging tails, touching stories, and one very special festive episode that’s sure to have us all crying into our Christmas puddings – in the best way possible. Currently, no dates or times have been confirmed; however, we will ensure to keep you updated on this page.
