John Lewis has officially launched its 2023 online Christmas Shop, opening earlier than ever as UK shoppers begin festive planning months in advance. With searches for Christmas gifts, decorations and trees surging, the retailer has unveiled new trends, expanded ranges and early‑season bestsellers.

Early Demand & Shopping Trends

John Lewis reported a major spike in Christmas interest:

• Searches for “Christmas gifts” doubled compared to August 2022.
• Customers are shopping earlier: 28% were already buying gifts in August.
• Last year, 30% of customers finished festive shopping by end of October, and 72% researched online before buying.

This early launch reflects how UK shoppers now prepare for Christmas well ahead of December.
