BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special has revealed the celebrity contestants taking part this year. Here’s what we know so far.

After announcing its stellar festive TV shows, BBC has now revealed the first of the celebs who will take part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special.

Rosie Ramsey was the first celebrity confirmed with DJ and presenter Rickie Haywood-Williams being announced shortly afterwards.

The next contestant has now been revealed: Alexandra Mardell is the third celebrity confirmed for the Christmas special, produced by BBC Studios. Alexandra will be paired with Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Kai Widdrington.

Larry Lamb (who has starred in EastEnders and Gavin & Stacey) is the fourth celebrity confirmed for the Christmas special, produced by BBC Studios. Larry will be paired with Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova.

Nicola Roberts (best known for being one-fifth of Girls Aloud) is the fifth celebrity confirmed for the Christmas special. Nicola will be paired with Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer, Giovanni Pernice.

George Webster (who recently won a Bafta, is a CBeebies presenter, actor and public speaker) is the sixth and final celebrity confirmed for the Christmas special. George will be paired with Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer, Amy Dowden.

Each of the six couples will perform a Christmas-inspired routine with the hope of impressing the judges, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, Head Judge Shirley Ballas, and the voting audience. But who will lift the coveted Strictly Come Dancing Christmas trophy?
It’s likely that SCD will air on Christmas Day at around 5pm.
