Tesco Christmas advert 2026 is here, and it might be the most relatable one yet. Sainsbury’s fired the starting pistol on the Christmas advert battle yesterday. Now Tesco has rolled up to the front door with its answer, and it’s a proper three-minute festive film.

It’s called The Wrong Address. And honestly? It’s the Christmas nightmare everyone of us has secretly had.

What happens in the Tesco Christmas advert 2026?

Picture it. Your big Christmas food shop is booked. The slot is sorted. Everything from the turkey to the tins of chocolates is on its way. There’s just one tiny problem. You’ve sent it to your old house.

That’s exactly what happens to Lizzie, played by Anna Maxwell Martin. Her Tesco delivery arrives at her old address, hundreds of miles away from her new home. Unsurprisingly, Lizzie is in despair.

Luckily, at the other end of the country, Tesco delivery driver Polly is on the case. Played by award-winning comedian and actor Roisin Conaty, Polly isn’t about to let Lizzie’s family go without their Christmas treats, so she offers to meet halfway for a quick handover.

But here’s the twist. Polly and Lizzie are old school friends who haven’t crossed paths in years. Of course, nothing at Christmas ever goes to plan, and the simple swap turns into an unexpected reunion road trip as the pair reminisce, reconnect and deliver Christmas together. It’s funny, it’s warm, and it’ll have you reaching for your phone to text that friend you keep meaning to catch up with.

Our verdict

We love this one. It takes a tiny, very human slip-up and turns it into something lovely. Above all, it’s a reminder that Christmas is about the people we share it with, including the ones we’ve lost touch with.
