Kevin the Carrot is back, Cauli Dog has vanished, and a Drag Race UK winner has been spotted wearing a cauliflower coat. Coincidence? We think not.

Aldi Christmas advert 2026 season has started in the most Aldi way possible. With a missing dog. A cauliflower one, to be exact.

We’d barely recovered from Sainsbury’s sprout avalanche and Tesco’s road trip reunion. Then Aldi dropped a 10-second teaser and, honestly, the office group chat hasn’t stopped since. Cauli Dog, Kevin the Carrot’s floret-faced best boy, has gone missing. And the internet already has a prime suspect.

What happens in the Aldi Christmas Advert 2026 teaser?

It’s short, but it packs a punch. The clip opens with Kevin’s daughter, Chantenay, wishing for Cauli Dog’s safe return after realising the family pet has disappeared. Cue our hearts breaking a little.

Next, we see Kevin and Chantenay sticking up ‘LOST’ posters as their search gets underway. And then? It just stops. No answers, no clues, no Cauli Dog. Aldi, how very dare you.

Wait, who is Cauli Dog again?

If you need a quick refresher, Cauli Dog was the breakout star of last year’s ad. Back in 2025, Kevin finally popped the question to Katie in a Love Actually-style cue card moment. And who carried the diamond ring on his collar? That’s right. Our good boy.

So you can see why fans are worried. This isn’t just any dog. This is the dog who helped make the carrot wedding of the decade happen.

The prime suspect: Danny Beard in a cauliflower coat

Now, here’s where it gets juicy. Just as Cauli Dog goes missing, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard is spotted out and about in Barking. The outfit? A statement cauliflower coat, black gloves, towering heels, jet-black sunglasses and a striking black-and-white wig.

If that look rings a bell, you’re not alone. It’s giving Cruella de Vil. And we all know how Cruella feels about dogs.

Fans were on it immediately. One person on X posted: “Is it a coincidence that Kevin the Carrot’s Cauli-dog has gone missing and @thedannybeard has been spotted wearing this @AldiUK?”

And Aldi? It didn’t exactly calm things down. The supermarket replied: “We’ve got our top dogs on the case, @thedannybeard”

We’re not saying Danny did it. We’re just saying we’d like to see the receipts for that coat.

When will the full Aldi Christmas advert 2026 be released?

Aldi hasn’t confirmed a date for the full advert yet. Last year’s first episode landed on 3 November, so we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s very soon. As soon as it drops, we’ll update this post. Keep your eyes peeled (sorry).

Our verdict

This is Aldi at its best. Ten seconds, one lost dog and a nation of amateur detectives. Meanwhile, roping in Danny Beard as a possible villain is a stroke of genius, and we can’t wait to see if the Cruella theory comes good.

One thing’s for sure. If Cauli Dog isn’t home by Christmas, there will be tears. Mostly ours.
