Since its debut in 2013, this beloved annual event has become a seasonal staple, inspiring light trails across the UK and celebrating the magic of nature after dark. This year’s trail promises a fresh experience with brand-new installations, global premieres, and cherished favourites that continue to delight visitors of all ages.
What’s New for 2025: World Premieres & Dazzling Displays
Prepare to be amazed by eight never-before-seen installations, making their global debut exclusively at Kew:

- Christmas Orchestra by Culture Creative: A symphony of festive tunes synchronized with a vibrant light display.
- In Bloom by Dutch artist Wilhelmusvlug: Ethereal petals swirl through the air in a poetic celebration of nature’s elegance.
- Mycelium Network: A glowing LED groundscape symbolizing the hidden fungal networks that sustain ecosystems worldwide, highlighting Kew’s cutting-edge research into fungi.
- Interactive Dance Floors: Slip on giant headphones and groove to seasonal hits under twinkling lights.
- Illuminated Great Pagoda: For the first time ever, this 18th-century architectural gem will shine as part of the trail.

The 3km route begins at the iconic Palm House, where a new projection show will light up Museum Number 1, celebrating humanity’s deep connection to plants. Nearby, Palm House Pond will shimmer with 100 radiant lilies, paying tribute to Kew’s world-renowned waterlily collection.

Quiet Access sessions are available on the following dates: 29 November, 2, 17 and 27 December. These sessions are suitable for visitors with hidden disabilities, such as autism, to make for a more comfortable visit whilst still benefiting from the sensory elements of Christmas at Kew. Visitors are asked to respect the quiet sessions and do not book during these limited time slots.
