Christmas Taste Test 2024 - Christmas Pudding Asda - Winner

ASDA’s Exceptional Luxury Christmas Pudding has been matured for 12 months and is packed full of vine fruits, almonds, Cognac, rum, brandy, and sherry. This was our winner of the Christmas puddings as it was the perfect balance of fruits with almonds and of course had plenty of rum, Cognac, brandy, and sherry throughout with a little bit of cream or ice cream would be ideal for any Christmas pudding fan – perfect for after Christmas dinner.

In second place is Tesco’s Black Forest Christmas Pudding which has the traditional vine fruits however to add a twist this pudding has Belgian chocolate chunks. We liked the rich flavour this Black Forest pudding had, it was a nice change from a traditional pudding with the added chocolate and the kirsch added a nice flavour.

Sainsbury’s Taste The Difference 18-Month Matured Christmas Pudding £9 – BUY HERE

Laced with cider, cognac, rum, brandy, and sherry, Sainsbury’s Taste The Difference Christmas Pudding has been matured for 18 months. We enjoyed the taste of this Christmas pudding and liked all of the different textures the almonds, walnuts, and pecans added but felt there could have been not just as many nuts as there was but it was still very tasty.

CO-OP Irresistible 12-Month Matured Christmas Pudding £5 – BUY HERE

Another traditional Christmas Pudding has matured for 12 months to allow all the flavours, brandy, cider, and rum to infuse in the glace cherries and vine fruits. We enjoyed Co-Op’s 12-month matured Christmas pudding and felt it would be great with a little cream or some warm custard.
