Christmas Gift Review 2023 – Stoov Big Hug XL

Winter is right around the corner, which means Christmas trees, frosty mornings, darker evenings, and wrapping up to keep warm and we can’t wait until it gets too cold and you’re wearing 30 jumpers and still shivering.

This is why when Stoov sent in its brand new (and wireless) Big Hug XL we couldn’t wait to test it. Firstly we’ll list the nitty gritty and then we’ll get down to if it really did heat us up!

We were sent the Woolly Beige colour which the name itself just makes us instantly feel warm, and was wrapped up in an airtight 100% compostable bag.

On opening we’re not going to lie, it’s massive, like the size of a small rug and as soft as one too! One side is a creamy beige and the other is a grey wool which is where the zip to hide the battery is there.

Once we connected the battery, you will notice the red/orange tag on the right-hand side of the Big Hug Xl this has the on button. You simply press the button and will see it light up red.

There are three settings (low, med, and high) just hit the button once, twice or thrice to get to the desired heat level you want.

Obviously, we went for the highest and have to see it was super warm, like sitting outside cuddled up, drinking hot chocolate and still feel warm that kind of warm.

Bringing Stoov Big Hug indoors we knocked it back to medium, which we felt gave a lovely relaxing feel and we could really see ourselves rolled up on the chair, watching our favourite Christmas movie and never want to leave the chair relaxed.

We were impressed that there was an overheating protection and would cut off after 8 hours because we all know if we get too comfy our eyes might just take a rest.

As always once you’re finished, you need to wait until it fully cools before storing and when washing. Always follow the washing instructions which are located on the outer cover.
