Top Nintendo Wii U games you’ll be playing by Christmas

After the succesful Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 for short) in Los Angeles, we take a look at this years Nintendo Wii U new releases and 2015 pre-orders that you’ll want to play by Christmas.

It seems as though Mario has raced to the aid of the struggling Wii U console, after the launch of Mario Kart 8 which saw sales grow, Nintendo has revealed a very strong line up of games to pre order and buy for Christmas.

Super Smash Bros – Released in October 2014 – Pre Order HERE.

First on the list (and comes as no surprise) is Super Smash Bros. Bringing back your favourite Nintendo characters such as Mario, Link and Pikachu you will also be able to use your Mii character in the cartoon brawls. Super Smash Bros will be the first Wii U game to interact with Amiibo (Nintendo’s toy line which interacts with Wii U games) and powering up your characters.

Just Dance 2015 – Released on October 24th – Pre Order HERE.

Are you one of the 100 million Just Dance players around the globe?  If so with the latest release (Just Dance 2015) you will be able to join the community, record yourself for the inclusion of the game and even vote on which re-mixed version you like the best – we’re practicing our moves right now!

Just like previous Just Dance games you will be bale to choose from a host of top tracks including:

Christmas for Nintendo wouldn’t be the same without a Sonic The Hedgehog game and this one is sure not to disappoint. Sonic Boom: Rise of the Lyric see’s Sonic and friends Ails, Knuckles, Amy and Sticks take on their biggest enemy yet – Lyric.

Hyrule Warriors – Released September 19th – Pre Order HERE.

If like us you simply love everything Zelda then Hyrule warriors is definitely one for under your christmas tree! You will need to help and reclaim the Hyrule kingdom using weapons and craft badges.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark – Released June 27th – Order HERE.

Always wanted to switch between robot and vehicle? We know we have!, with Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark  you can  do just that.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker – Released winter 2014 – Pre Order Here.

Some may call him cowardly but we say this little toad is courageous and with that over-sized headlamp he could even be a style icon too.

Splatoon – Released in 2015 – Pre Order Here.

Wii U fans will be itching to get their hands on the new Splatoon game, however as it is not on sale until 2015 (we can hear you sigh) we will all just have to make-do with pre-ordering.

Splatoon is a fun multiplayer game where two teams of four compete over territory by throwing ink to the ground to take out other players.  Shoot ink at players, transform into a squid and travel through ink – strategy is your main ally.  Order here from Amazon UK.


Xenoblade Chronicles X – Released in 2015 – Pre Order HERE.

Exclusively to Wii U, this massive sci-fi role-playing game will allow you to explore every inch of the massive open world.

Yoshi’s Woolly World – Released in 2015- Pre Order HERE.

Have you ever seen a woollen Yoshi?  you will now! Not only will you be able to do wool-based moves throughout the grand yarn but Woolly Yoshi can throw knitted eggs, grow in size and even gobble up friends to turn them into eggs – who wants a friend like that?  Us too!

The Legend of Zelda – Released in 2015 – Pre Order HERE.

Although not the official title, fans of Nintendo have stated this will be one of the most popular games out for 2015.

Showcased at E3, you wil be able to explore a new world like never before. Link will face new challenges and enemies which will allow players to truely take control, we’ve already asked Santa for this one!


Other titles including LEGO The Hobbit, The Lego movie, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 all which have been released make buying the Wii U this festive season a must for gaming fans.
