STOP what you’re doing as Very.co.uk has released its emotional ad shows a stunning animated 40-second film all about the residents of Chester Street, which is also home to all the stars from previous Very ads.
Telling the story of a community coming together to ensure Christmas is extra-special for elderly neighbour Sidney. The “get more out of giving” ad begins with a snowy moonlit street, where to young boys, Alfie and Archie spot Sidney off to walk his dog, they notice his house is the only not decorated one on the street.
Running down stairs, Alfie hands Mrs Bumble a pink gift-wrapped box to Mrs Bumble, the friendly lollipop lady who was in Very Christmas ads since 2016, who then, pops a Christmas pudding inside the pink box and passes down the next generous neighbour.
As the advert carries on we see Elsie the astronaut from last year’s Very ad who add Christmas crackers to the big, before passing on to Anna – who we last saw with toy wolf Ulfie who came to life in Very’s 2017 Christmas ad – then puts the present on a remote-controlled toy car.
Martha who we last seen recovering in hospital in Very’s 2016 advert, picks up the box is next to add a gift, we last seen recovering in hospital in the 2016 Very Christmas ad gives it to surprised Sidney, who is then surrounded by all his smiling Chester Street neighbours.
Set to the soundtrack by The Social Singing Choir’s beautiful version of Rudimental’s 2012 Number One hit ‘Feel The Love’.
Andrew Roscoe, head of brand at Shop Direct, which operates Very, said: “It has been a real joy bringing together the characters from our previous campaigns as a community who care and support each other. The Social Singing Choir are the real life embodiment of that community and they each have personal stories why being part of the choir is important to them. We believe you get more out of giving, and this powerful message is especially important at this time of year.”
Last year, Very’s animated advert ‘Find the gift that helps them find their gift’ was massively popular due to its heartwarming theme so we can expect this one to be just as popular.
