Lego have released a limited edition Mr Gold Minifigure to celebrate the launch of the 10th Minifigure series.

For the first time in history, Lego has launched a ‘Willy Wonka’ style search for a Mr Gold Minifigure. The worldwide search to find the super rare Mr Gold Minifigures, from Oregon to Oz, 520 Mr Gold Minifigures have been found across the globe so far but there are still 4,488 still to be discovered.

Since hitting the shelves, 95 luckly Lego fans have got their hands on a rare Mr Gold Minifigure in the UK alone in locations which include: Burton on Trent, Wetherby, Leeds, Stafford and Worthing.

To help locate all of the 5,000 Mr Gold Mnifigures, Lego have created a global online mapping system where winners can go and upload their details on the world map by entering their Mr Gold VIP code which is inside their Minifigure pack.

The UK is leading Europe in the winning stakes so far. The top five leading European countries with Mr Gold winners currently are:

1. UK
2. Germany
3. Italy & Ireland
4. Netherlands
5. Denmark, Switzerland, Spain & Poland

A LEGO spokesperson said: “It seems the UK is the luckiest country in Europe for bagging 95 Mr Gold Minifigures so far! As soon as the  Series 10 Minifigures went on sale, LEGO fans up and down the country were queuing outside of toy shops and LEGO stores to be one of the first to get their hands on a super rare Mr Gold. May the luck continue and we look forward to seeing how many winners the UK produces!”

There are 16 in total to collect in Series 10 for a litmited time only as once they are gone, they are gone! Other characters in the series include: Warrior Women, Sad Clown, Bumblebee Girl, Roman Commander, Decorator, Motorcycle Mechanic, Grandpa, Revolutionary Soldier, Baseball Fielder, Sea Captain Medusa, Skydiver, Trendsetter, Paintball Player and Tomahawk Warrior.

Each of the minifigures have its own special accessories, display plate and collector’s leaflet and combines easily with all classic lego bricks and parts.
