As Britain basks in a summer heatwave, Marks & Spencer is already conjuring up festive cheer with the filming of its highly anticipated 2025 Christmas advert.

This year, the beloved British retailer has cast rising star Aimee Lou Woodâknown for her roles in Sex Education and The White Lotus – as the face of its Fashion, Home & Beauty campaign, marking a glamorous new chapter in the brandâs holiday storytelling.
Wood, 31, has signed a lucrative deal to front the campaign, following in the footsteps of previous M&S stars like Hannah Waddingham, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Zawe Ashton. Her casting is being hailed as a major coup, with insiders calling her âutterly charmingâ and ârelatableââa perfect fit for the retailerâs festive message.

Filming is taking place in the picturesque Hertfordshire town of Hatfield, which has been transformed into a snowy Dickensian dreamscape. Despite the sweltering August temperatures, Wood was spotted in a faux-fur coat, black trousers, and boots, strolling through streets lined with twinkling lights, oversized baubles, and wreath-covered doorways.
In one playful moment, Wood was seen joking, âItâs not just a dog, itâs an M&S dog,â as a fluffy pup wearing reindeer antlers wandered through the setâa cheeky nod to the brandâs iconic slogan.
While the full advert wonât air until November, early images suggest a heartwarming and visually rich campaign that blends classic Christmas charm with modern star power. The ad is expected to be glitzier than last yearâs, which featured Dawn French reprising her role as the M&S Christmas fairy.
With Woodâs charisma and the retailerâs commitment to festive magic, this yearâs campaign is poised to be one of the most memorable yet. As the battle for Christmas advert supremacy heats up, M&S may have just unwrapped a winner.
