Pet Owners Christmas Gift: SureFlap Microchip Pet Door

SureFlap Microchip Pet Door is an innovative pet product which will give your large cat and small dogs their very own house key! Have you ever experienced the shock to find your cat’s dinner is being snaffled by another feline intruder or like most of us woken up to the baffling noises of tiny hooves stampeding through your living room, well Sureflap’s new Microchip Pet Door will ensure your pets home stays your pets home. We were kindly sent this to review.

Unlike many other cat flap doors, this works on both RFID cat collars and all identification microchips – excellent if your furry friend hates collars! Taking out of the box the unit is light to carry and pretty easy to assemble. Fitting was just a case of assembling the unit around a hole of your choice, putting in the screws and adding a dab if ‘All weather Sealant’ around the edge to give a waterproof seal. Please ensure all measurements are correct before installing as you don’t want any huge gaps.

Once the batteries have been inserted, simply click the button that looks like a cats head for around 1 second and the SureFlap goes into learning mode, now the next cat to which passes through the door or puts its head through the tunnel will have its microchip details stored. Now it’s time for the “fun” dance of getting your larger cat (or small dog) through the SureFlap.

For us, we decided to try positioning our test cat (our neighbors as our two are indoor only cats) right outside, as he peered in we put, yes a bribe, some cat treats in our hand and cooed him in, pressing the button, our moggy stepped through the mini door and registered his chip.

The Microchip Pet Door can register up to 32 large cats or small dogs at one time and you can even control what times of the day your pet can have access to the outdoors, simply set the current time on the LCD Display and wait for this to be stored. Once done, repeat the process of setting the time, this time pressing the lock button in the middle of the device, once done you then need to set the unlocking by setting which time you want it unlocked and pressing the unlock time button.

The SureFlap only restricts entry to the house, so if an unexpected cat jumps in through the window it can still exit through the flap. If your running low on battery the battery indicator will show and blink as red, however the SureFlap does last around 6 months. Available in a dark brown colour too so you can match into walls this innovative pets gadget is the ideal gift for any pet owner. Giving your cat (and small dogs) a house key of their own you can sleep easy knowing it’s only your little kitten that’s tearing up and down the house at night.

To buy it now for £119.99 and for more information including other colours please visit: https://sureflap.com
