The much loved Children’s book ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’ by Judith Kerr is set to be made into an animated adaption by the makers of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ and ‘The Snowman and The Snowdog’ for Christmas 2019.
The all-star cast has been announced for the animated film. In the line up is Benedict Cumberbatch, Tamsin Greig, David Oyelowo, Paul Whitehouse and seven-year old newcomer Clara Ross will all be taking up roles in the festive film.
The Tiger Who Came To Tea follows the story of a little girl called Sophie who discovers a cheeky Tiger who turns up unannounced and eats and drinks Sophie and mummy out of house, home and bathwater before disappearing into the night.
The much loved picture book has had a new hand-drawn animated special commissioned by Channel 4, produced by Lupus Films and HarperCollins. The book celebrated its 50th anniversary last year making it a firm family favourite and a special animation will air as a festive treat in 2019.
