We were recently gifted the Kenwood kMix Stand Mixer KMX760YG which is designed to make light work of creating your favourite dishes and Holly from our team was the lucky team member who got to try this stand mixer out.
Delivering 6 different speed settings, the Kenwood kMix KMX760YG has a powerful 1000w motor and this new limited edition version has a sleek metallic design.
We sent Holly off to try this out and here is the verdict: “Well, this looks impressive! Everyone at UTCT knows that cooking is my ‘thing’, I love it, which is why I am more than happy to be testing out the Kenwood kMix KMX760YG. This has a copper/metallic design, with a stainless steel bowl which is pictured on the box and instantly has me excited to put it into my kitchen.
Design aside, this is heavy. You might need a hand to lift it into position. This does have a 0.7 metre cable which is long enough to reach a plug socket, but short enough not to have excess cable in the way. This has an impressive 5l capacity and has some sort of special powers that stop your flour from creating a cloud everywhere.
Watch Holly from the team demonstrate the Kenwood kMix:
I decided to create something simple to start with, so I just made a basic batter mixture so I could get a feel for all of the settings the kMix has. There are three accessories also included, a beater, balloon and dough hook. I was excited to try all of these out. I pulled the lever and lifted up the kMix so that I could attach the beater, simply placed this into the accessory space and twisted it into place. So I had an egg, some flour and a little bit of milk to add into the bowl.
I began with the egg which I had already cracked open into a dish so I added that in and a little bit of the flour before turning this to the very first setting. The stand mixer wasn’t too loud and there wasn’t mixture flying everywhere out of the bowl, although I will mention there was an included splash guard so even if that did happen I could just put on the guard and no mixture would go on the ceiling!
I added in the rest of the flour and the milk and began to go through each of the settings just so I could get a feel as to how powerful Kenwood kMix stand mixer was and I have to say it is extremely powerful. I went all the way up to the final setting and it mixed my batter mixture instantly. The mixture was smooth and had combined my ingredients perfectly. There was also a balloon which I could make meringues with and a dough hook to make the perfect bread mixture, again it was really easy to detach and reattach the accessories.
When it was time to tidy up, the Kenwood bowl was unlocked and as per the instructions I simply wiped this as it could not go into a dishwasher which isn’t a bad thing as it might prevent scratches on the bowl and accessories.
Overall I was really impressed with the Kenwood kMix KMX760YG, I loved the sleek metallic design, all of the speed settings and just how powerful the stand mixer was, I can not wait to go and try out lots of fun festive recipes!”
We were sent this to review but all thoughts are our own.
