Mandy said: “Wine is one of my favourite alcoholic drinks to have, I like both red and white wine and do love trying out new kinds. I was really excited the try out the new Laithwaites Wine advent calendar as behind each door was a different wine. Firstly the design of the box is bright and festive and has fun decor on the front. The box clearly shows the numbers to push in for each day and the box can even be sat out on a unit or in a safe place.

Opening up the doors I was impressed with just how easy it was to push in each of the numbers as sometimes these can be really hard to do. When I pressed in each of door I was greeted with a different wine, I don’t want to give the entire range away so I will just mention a few of the wines that I received in the advent calendar.

Each of the wines are from the best sellers range so I knew trying each of these I was going to get a good wine. I did like the fact that the bottles were around 200ml each so that meant that if I liked it I could get a good glass full but if I wasn’t so keen then there wasn’t a whole bottle being wasted.

I tried the Sauvignon Blanc which was so crisp and refreshing, I just wanted to go out and buy a full bottle. Then I opened up another door and I was lucky enough to get a red Merlot wine which was called, now I have to say that even though I prefer white wine, I would have happily drank this, especially over Christmas dinner or with some cheese and cracker biscuits.

I had to find out what was behind the 24th day, and I’m reluctant to say but I’m going to so if you don’t want to know what the surprise is don’t read on! Behind door 24 is a miniature bottle of champagne! I thought this was a great idea as you could have this on Christmas eve or day and you could even make a little cocktail using something like Chambord to make the bottle go even further!

Overall I loved having all of these different wines and champagne to try, it made me get out of my comfort zone and try some new wines and I will definitely buy this Laithwaites Wine Advent Calendar again!”
